The History of Veeam Data Protection
Veeam was founded by Ratmir Timashev back in 2006; before that he founded a company called Aelita Software that specialised in management software for Windows Server infrastructures, and they were subsequently acquired by Quest software in 2004.
Quest Software was acquired by Dell in 2006 in order to help strengthen and diversify the server management part of their business, which continues to grow and become an ever increasingly integral part of Dell's long term strategy for success in the corporate arena.
Veeam is a very similar software suite that manages backup and recovery for virtualised server environments. Dell have rigorously tested it with their OpenManage systems management suite of softwares, and as a result, Veeam were awarded Dell ISV Basic Certified Partner status in 2009. The relationship between Veeam and Dell continues to grow, and where both products have been extensively tested together, Miragetek typically recommend Veeam as the backup and replication solution of choice for our customers that are migrating over to, or currently use Dell in their server room.
With over 300,000 companies worldwide already using their backup and replication software as part of their server management process, and more than 4,000,000 virtual machines currently being protected by Veeam; you can be assured that you're investing in a tried and tested solution with unparallelled visibility and advanced monitoring techniques. This is further substantiated by the fact that they have received over 40 high profile awards across their outstanding portfolio of products.
Fully capable of working in conjunction with both VMware and Hyper-V. Veeam has steadily grown to become the number one backup, recovery and replication suite. Customers that use Veeam within their virtualised environment benefit from lower overheads and greater overall control of their backup process.
