The HP Smart Array P830 Controller is a full height, half length, 12 Gb/s SAS capable, PCIe 3.0, RAID controller that provides enterprise class storage performance for select HP ProLiant Gen8 rack servers and tower servers. It features 16 physical SAS/SATA lanes each capable of supporting 12Gb/s or 6 Gb/s SAS or SATA protocol Advanced storage functionality, such as Advanced Data Mirroring, Advanced Data Guarding, dual domain, makes it easier to protect the data.

Greater Scalability and Improved Performance.
The HP Smart Array P830 allows you to connect a total of 16 drives spanning two separate drive cages. P830 provides an SSD optimized controller solution that allows customers to attach 16 SSDs for maximum performance. The HP Smart Array P830i delivers an end to end 12 Gb/s SAS solution on the HP ProLiant DL580 Gen8 server. HP SSD Smart Path provides up to 4x better SSD read performance for Microsoft Windows, Linux and VMware.
Data Protection.
Data security with optional HP Secure Encryption, an enterprise-class encryption solution for data at rest on any bulk storage attached to the P830 Controller. Standard on P830 are RAID 6 ADG, RAID 60 , RAID 5 DDG, RAID 50, RAID 1&10, RAID 1 ADM & 10 ADM. Long term data retention with 4GB FBWC kit w/battery.
